“Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.” – Robert Browning

We interrupt our high-stakes testing blog series to take a moment to reflect upon Mother’s Day.  Mother’s Day marks an important time to pause and show gratitude to individuals who sacrifice much each and every day. To demonstrate that importance, we have a special podcast episode this week featuring the co-hosts’ very own mothers. Indeed, the willingness of Trish Goodman and Mary Barrett to step outside their comfort zones and participate in this interview is a testimony to their dedication as parents, even for their adult children. Neither enjoys the limelight or public speaking and the technology aspect of recording this interview via webcast also took an extra effort for them. But, through their willingness to learn and do what they can to help their sons, Mrs. Goodman and Mrs. Barrett helped us create a unique and fun conversation.

In this fun and touching episode, two adult sons, who have children of their own, talk with their mothers about how they created solutions and opportunities for their children during a different era. Mrs. Goodman and Mrs. Barrett share their wisdom and discuss solutions for the new challenges of parenting today and what we can do to foster creativity and discovery in all children. You can listen here at Creative Moms , on iTunes, or anywhere you get your podcasts.

We’ve also had the privilege of interviewing other creative mothers to discuss how to foster creativity in the lives of our own children here:

The Ultimate Creators

“Moms are like buttons, they hold everything together.” – Unknown

Speaking of motherhood and creativity, mothers are probably the most creative people on earth. Mothers are the ultimate creators: they not only bring new lives into the world, but also nurture and shape them. On a day to day basis, mothers everywhere are looking for innovative ways to provide for their children and their families. It would be impossible to count the number of ways mothers are solving problems and finding new ways of doing things. However, one big, and relatively new, example is the “mommy blog.” Mothers across the globe have found an innovative way to harness technology connect, share, problem-solve, and even create income.  We’ve had the privilege of partnering with several of these innovative moms and would like to give a shout out to a few here. Be sure to check out the work of:

Thanks again for taking the time to explore creativity and to honor our mothers on this special weekend!
